Why Are Warrants Issued?

The warrants found on the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch warrant search portal are issued for violating probation and/or not showing for court hearings. You will also find individuals on this portal that have an order to incarcerate issued by a judge. This provides law enforcement with the authority to detain person(s) suspected of committing a crime.

CT Warrant Search Resolutions

After you have conducted a warrant search in Connecticut, you will need to verify the information through the court that issued the warrant. After verifying the warrant you will need to determine the steps to take to clear the warrant.

The first step to clear a warrant would be to turn yourself in or to speak with an attorney. An attorney may be able to help you clear the warrant without being arrested and/or appearing in court. Some arrest warrants for misdemeanor failure to appear charges can be vacated by appearing before a judge.

When turning yourself in, you will need to go to the local law enforcement agency or to the jurisdiction where your warrant was issued. There is a chance you will need to be booked into jail and/or bonded out.
